Be a Mentor

We need mentors who have a heart for helping women who feel lost, confused, or hopeless. Mentoring involves lifting others up by offering compassion and guidance and hope. A mentor walks alongside a mentee providing an encouraging space to grow, share and develop her confidence and self worth.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Use your professional or personal experience to lead a workshop or class on a variety of life skills: Health and Wellness, Parenting, Financial Stability, Job Readiness, Relationships.

  • Lead a bible study

  • Host a household product collection (list of needs is provided)

  • Lead a Welcome Home collection to stock the house for a family moving into their own place after homelessness

  • Serve on a job task force to help secure companies willing to hire or intern our participants

  • Search/call for housing vacancies

  • Be a Christmas Elf and sponsor a child, mom, or family at Christmas

  • Serve on our prayer team to receive regular prayer requests for our women, mentors, and ministry

  • Lead a planning team for a fundraiser

  • Invite our Director to speak at your women's ministry event, church-wide event, or at a small in-home gathering. This can be part of a fundraising effort for our ministry or as an educational opportunity to learn about poverty, addiction, and our ministry

Immediate Tangible Needs

Stock the house collection for a single mom moving out of homelessness and into her own place mid-late November:

Needs: Sofa, lamps, full and twin mattress set and frame, small kitchen table and chairs, 2 dressers, end tables, new pot and pan set, silverware, and other basic kitchen essentials, household products/trash cans, bath towels, shower curtain/liner and bath mat, comforter, and sheets and pillows.

Ministry Support

You can make a difference through a financial gift to support our services. Our ministry is 100% funded by the generous donations of individuals and churches. We have one part time staff and all other support is through the time and efforts of dedicated volunteers. The Raleigh Baptist Association kindly provides our free office space, but we are not funded through their budget. Your donation will:

  • Help us continue to train and support mentors who are working one on one with women in our program

  • Provide materials and teachers for class lessons, bible studies, class meals, and other class related costs

  • Provide financial support for participants in an emergency or as a scholarship for tuition or to support their efforts towards self-sufficiency

  • Provide food cards, gas cards as needed

  • Secure the overall operation of this ministry
